Check Swing - Strike

 

Step 1
From this heel-toe slot position, after determining that the batter did indeed swing...

 

 Step 2
Rise up and point your index finger of the hand closest to the batter to the batter's head and verbalize , "Yes, he went."

 

 

Step 3
After pointing at the batter to sell the check swing strike, give the strike mechanic.

 

TIPS

The verbalization occurs in a continuous manner over steps 2 & 3.

Step 2 - as you point to the batter's head, state "Yes"
Step 3 - as you go into the strike mechanic, state "He went"

If the batter is left handed, then the point in step 2 would be with the right hand.
